Food homemade and awesome. Great seafood and other selections. Homemade desserts. Family run business. Very friendly staff. Get there early as they are a popular destination with such great food.
Food ok. I'm not a big seafood fan. This restaurant caters to those who want seafood. Place was busy Friday and Saturday. Line going out the door Friday night. I had marinated chicken tenders with rice pilaf. My son had a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. Drink, I had oj & pineapple juice while my son had milk, portions were big. Friendly service.
Highest rated restaurant from all of my cousin's and friends.
I took a chance, with trying out this restaurant. If I could give a 10 star rating, I would. The food was absolutely Awesomeness. The waitresses and owner we're always friendly and even joked and teased from time to time.
The food is made from high quality ingredients, but doesn't hit your wallet to hard. I would definitely go back to this restaurant, when I'm back in the area. I live 800 miles away, and wish that there was a good restaurant like this, in my area. I would eat there quite often. The food portions we're really nice, in size. Yum, Yum, Yum....
We vacation in Searsport for 7-10 days each summer. For the past five years or so we have included a trip to Anglers as part of our trip. The service is generally very good. I would rate the food as average. It's not hard to deep fry seafood, so you kind of know what you're getting in that respect. If you order something broiled you will likely be disappointed. After making that mistake myself and seeing others in our party do the same, I now just get something fried. On a positive note, the fried pickles on the appetizer menu are something different. At least we don't see them often where we live. The seafood chowder is above average. Again, not the best you have ever had, but very good. Overall, if you need a place to eat, Anglers will fit the bill, I've just had better seafood up and down the Atlantic coast.
I would've given it a 3 star for barely acceptable cooking, but I could only afford one when their jacked-up price was added to the mix. Service was good for the first half time we're there, but then the waitress disappeared and even the host couldn't find her, so had to figured out our bill herself. We're there in the afternoon towards the end of a long weekend, and was attracted by the fullness of the parking lot. The place was bustling when we entered. We didn't see a single empty table. Others may have liked the joint for different reasons, but to me a $20 lobster roll on a cold bread, with only claw meat, and of the size of 5-year-old's small palm (smaller than all I had before in Portland, ME and Boston, Mass at lower price), smells rip-off.
